SHAINA MAGDANGAL MOVES OUT OF SIS VINA MORALES’ SHADOW
Quezon City, March 10, 2000 - Ten-year-old award winning actress Shaina Magdayao has just released her self-titled debut album under Star Records.
Named Best Child Performer in last year's Parangal ng Bayan and Best New TV Personality in the 1996 Star Awards, Shaina makes big strides in her blossoming career with her 12-track album.
Following in the footsteps of her sister Vina Morales, Shaina’s first album is a compliation of light pop songs and ballads.
The carrier single is “Sayaw, Sweet Lullabye” composed by Idonnah C. Lopez, mother of child actor-singer L.A. Lopez. Rommel Villarico arranged the song.
All the cuts in the album were chosen to fit Shaina’s youthful image.
Shaina is the youngest person ever to be given the opportunity by Star Records to do a solo album, which shows the company’s great confidence in her.
Shaina is currently a regular on Marinella, an ABS-CBN drama series which also stars other young actresses like Camille Pratts and Serena Dalrymple.
She is also actively making movies. Her most recent projects were “Wansapanataym, The Movie” directed by Johnny Manahan and “Hiling” directed by Jose Javier Reyes, both for Star Cinema.
