CECILE LICAD AT HARRISBURG BENEFIT CONCERT
Harrisburg, Pa., March 10, 2000 (From PRNewswire) - World famous soloist and concert pianist Cecile Licad, renowned jazz musician Steve Rudolph and vocalist Cathi Chemi will perform locally at ``Key into Spring,'' a concert to benefit the World Mission of Central PA, Inc. and the Community Check Up Center of South Harrisburg.
The afternoon of classical piano and cool jazz will take place March 26 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Forum Building in Harrisburg.

The Community Check Up Center provides preventive and emergency medical care to working poor families and those making the transition from welfare to work residing in the Hall Manor section of Harrisburg.
The World Mission of Central PA, Inc. was established by local physicians and business leaders to provide medical equipment, training and surgical missions to medically under served areas around the world, including sites in Kosovo, Haiti, Guatemala, the Philippines, and Kenya.
Cecile Licad was born in Manila and made her orchestral debut at the age of seven. At the age of 12, she came to the United States to study with Seymour Lipkin, Rudolph Serkin and Mieczyslaw Horszowski. In 1981 she received international attention when she was the first musician in a decade to receive the prestigious Leventritt Gold Medal.
Since then she has performed with Sir George Solti and the Chicago Symphony, at the White House and with many of the world's leading orchestras and conductors. This will be the second performance in Central Pennsylvania for the ardent chamber musician and award-winning recording artist.
Steve Rudolph is past president and founder of Central PA Friends of Jazz. He has performed at Carnegie Hall and across Europe in five European tours. He has accompanied Jerry Van Dyke and Milton Berle, and performed in the Tommy Dorsey Band, and with master drummer Louie Bellson and Brazilian vocalist Kenia. His original works have been performed for Market Square Concerts in Harrisburg, for the Williamsburg Symphony and others. In addition to hosting several jazz radio programs, he has taught jazz history and piano at Elizabethtown College and Duquesne University. This well-known recording artist has also donated his time and talent to help many of Central Pennsylvania's charitable organizations.
The afternoon will be completed by the sultry sounds of Cathi Chemi, well known in Central Pennsylvania as a vocalist and recording artist, performing with Steve Rudolph.
