HALF-PINOY ROB SCHNEIDER IN RP FOR THURSDAY MOVIE PREMIERE
Manila, March 7, 2000 - Half-Pinoy actor-comedian Rob Schneider will grace the Philippine premiere of his latest movie ''Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo'' Thursday night at SM Megamall.
He will be flying in from Taiwan with his Filipina mom, Pilar Schneider.
The screening was organized in cooperation with actor/sportsman Richard Gomez, Presidential Adviser on Youth and Sports. Proceeds of the premiere will benefit the Philippine Amateur Fencing Association and MAD - (Mamamayan Ayaw sa Droga).
In the film, Schneider plays Deuce Bigalow, a fish tank cleaner who accidentally wrecks a $6,000 state-of-the art aquarium owned by Antoine Laconte (Oded Fehr), a successful male escort. With a few weeks to go before Antoine returns from a "business engagement" in Switzerland, there was no way Deuce could raise the money to replace the aquarium.
>From world class loser, Deuce becomes Deuce Bigalow, the completely irresistible, totally affordable male gigolo.
Co-written by Schneider, the film is executive produced by fellow actor/comedian Adam Sandler and the hit producing team behind Sandler’s "The Waterboy" and "Big Daddy."
The film opens its regular run on March 15 in Metro Manila.
