SUNSHINE LEAVING SHOWBIZ, SETTLING DOWN BY YEAREND
Quezon City, March 4, 2000 - Actress Sunshine Cruz is saying goodbye to her career in showbiz after her church wedding to Cesar Montano scheduled before the end of this year.
She would have left the entertainment world sooner, but she can’t turn her back to the many commitments she and manager Alfie Lorenzo entered into, mostly concerts abroad.
Sunshine is scheduled to be in the US this month for three shows there.
Her current movie is with Phillip Salvador, Viva's "Pag Oras Mo Na, Oras Mo Na!" where she plays a human rights lawyer. She has only one more film to go, "War Freak 2," opposite Cesar Montano.
Sunshine's decision to quit comes just when her career is gaining momentum.
"Sayang," Sunshine agrees, but she loves Cesar more than her career.
Sunshine says she decided to bow out of the limelight after being advised by her father, who feels it is best if Sunshine gives full concentration to being a housewife.
Cesar thought it was a good idea and she agreed.
Sunshine admits that her parents were initially against her settling down, and had reservations about Cesar, especially with his playboy image. But they eventually relented when they realized how deeply and honestly in love with each other Sunshine and Cesar are.
So, just like her singer-actress cousin Donna Cruz, Sunshine will place family above the intricacies of show business.
