HOLLYWOOD

Aspen,
Colorado, Feb. 18, 2000. Ruffa Gutierrez (shown in the picture
interviewing the cast of Groove) is again in the mainstream of international
television production as her mother outfit, Century, features her in many
of its latest ventures.
After a successful hosting assignment at the Sundance Film Festival for Warner’s newest entertainment service Entertaindom, and an appearance at the Century exhibition booth during The National Association of Television Programmers and Executives in New Orleans, she was a guest of The National Football League and Century for this year’s Superbowl.
Ruffa moved on to her next assignment as a reporter and host for The American Comedy Awards. There, she interviewed a bevy of superstars: Goldie Hawn, Steve Martin, Martin Short, Mike Myers, Darryl Hannah, Lorenzo Llamas, Shari Belafonte Harper, Lisa Kudrow, Lisa Gibbons, Betty White, Tracey Ullman, Kelsey Grammer, Marion Ross and many more.
And what's next for Ruffa? Well she's with Century at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival for a special tribute on Robin Williams. Ruffa will be interviewing many celebrities and guests for a two-hour television special to be released later this summer.
Century Productions Inc. will be delivering a series of television specials for Home Box Office including the Mike Nichols and Elaine May Special hosted by comic genius Steve Martin. Century will also be producing the Jerry Lewis Tribute moderated by Martin Short along with the Tribute to Robin Williams hosted by Eric Idle.
Ruffa's latest role will be to interview some of today's greatest television personalities and rising comedy stars.
Ken Botelho, President of Century Productions said " Ruffa has impressed me more and more since her first hosting debut for Countdown to the Millennium. While she was in the shadow of her two co-hosts Todd Newton and Lisa Robertson, she has really come into her own since that telecast. She was determined after Countdown to take over a starring role at Century and that she has,” said Botelho.
"You should see her now, poised, articulate, and very confident. This is just what I saw in her when we made the choice to bring her into the company. There is a different Ruffa today than only six weeks ago. I am very pleased with her level of self-confidence.”
The company is so pleased with her development that she will be their guest at the Grammy Awards on February 23rd in Los Angeles.
Later this month Ruffa hosts a Backstreet Boys Pay-Per-View Television Special along with a very special night with Arista Records Platinum star Patti Smith at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City.
And what does Ruffa have to say about all of this?
"I've been living out of a suitcase the past couple of months and this has been quite exciting for me but difficult. I wake up to a different hotel room almost everyday, but I can't complain because I have met a lot of very interesting people, and traveled to many new cities that I thought I might never see. But, most of all I thank God everyday for giving me these special opportunities.”
