SHARON LOST 66 LBS THRU XENICAL, DIET, EXERCISE

Quezon City, Feb. 11, 2000 Although Sharon Cuneta admits using Xenical, the fat-blocking drug is not the only reason for her 66-pound weight loss. She also credits a sensible high-protein diet and long hours on the treadmill for her new younger, slimmer look.

“I use Xenical only on days when I can’t help but take some fatty food, which is actually not very often. And I’m taking the pill only because it is approved by the FDA (Food and Drugs Administration), unlike Bangkok pills,” Sharon said.

It took the Megastart 17 months to lose 66 lbs., because she lost weight via the effective and safe way.

“About taking pills to lose weight effectively and properly, it just doesn’t work. That’s an external remedy, just like liposuction. Losing weight has to start from within, from the decision that you can’t stand how you look anymore and that you have finally admitted you have become unhealthy.” She said, while admitting that the supreme reason for shedding off pounds was her health.

It was something her husband said that made her sit up and rethink.

“He said he would be more concerned about my health,” she said, after which she did a self-evaluation. “I knew I’ve become unhealthy with so much weight because I couldn’t go up and down some stairs without running short of breath. I even needed several pillows on my head so I can lie down comfortably.”

She has not closed the doors on the possibility of resorting to liposuction someday.

“I still have some bilbil and a puson, and I will do my best to trim it down by dieting and exercising some more. The thing is, I’ve had one kid and I’m not in my 20s anymore. If I can’t lose the fats in those areas (anymore), then I’ll decide to go for a lipo. It’s definitely a last recourse and not the first,” she admits candidly.

But she will not go the way of Kris Aquino, Rosanna Roces and Ai Ai delas Alas, who made a big deal publicly about having undergone liposuction.

“When I do go for lipo, I wouldn’t announce it to the world. I wouldn’t be comfortable doing that,” Sharon said.
