AIKO SUFFERS A MISCARRIAGE

Quezon City, Feb. 3, 2000 The latest report on Aiko Melendez is sad. Ethel Ramos, Malaya’s entertainment columnist and veteran talent manager, wrote in today’s column about Aiko’s ectopic pregnancy, which caused the actress to be hospitalized.

The baby she lost would have been the second child of her marriage to actor Jomari Yllana. Their first, Andre Rafael, is now 16 months old.

Aiko and Jomari surprised everyone a few months ago when they announced that they had been married for a year, in civil rites on Aiko’s birthday Dec. 16, 1998.

After almost a year of adjusting to motherhood and shedding off several unwanted pounds she gained during her first pregnancy, Aiko went back before the cameras for a movie with Gelli de Bellen.

“Walang Iwanan, Mare” is due to be shown later this month.
