DOES RICHARD’S GOVT JOB DELAY MOVIE SHOOTS?
Quezon City, Jan. 31, 2000 - Douglas Quijano, manager of Richard Gomez, denies that Goma once asked to postpone the shooting of a big and expensive scene with Sharon Cuneta even after everything and everyone had been set up.
“First, that scene wasn’t really big and expensive. Second, we called up Star Cinema (the film’s producer) two days before to have the scene rescheduled because Goma had to be in a MAD (‘Mamamayang Ayaw sa Droga’) affair,” Quijano said.
The talent manager said Star Cinema had been warned about the possibility of schedule conflicts even before the actor signed up the contract for the project.
“The producers knew Goma’s priority, which is why they set three months for the filming. Goma and Sharon started shooting in November, and if they finished within a week or two from today, I don’t think that those two weeks may be called a considerable delay,” clarified the manager.
The manager disclosed that because of Goma’s commitments to President Erap, he has been making personal sacrifices to maximize his availability for the shooting of any movie he commits to.
“Last year, he was invited to join three international fencing tournaments but he had to decline all of them because his going out of the country would surely have eaten into his already blocked off days he had blocked off for the film’s shooting.”
