JAO MAPA LEAVING SHOWBIZ FOR SCHOOL

Quezon City, Jan. 14, 2000 Jao Mapa, once one of the most promising young actors of the mid-90s, has re-evaluated his career goals and is quitting show business temporarily.

Jao has not really been in show business 100 percent, since he has always given his education top priority. He is currently a Fine Arts student at the University of Santo Tomas.

According to Malaya columnist Ethel Ramos, Jao is now totally turning his back on the entertainment world.

One day soon, he will stage a comeback, though no longer as an actor but as a director.

Jao aims to take up formal training in movie and TV directing either while finishing his Fine Arts course or by taking post graduate courses.
