RICHARD AND LUCY EXPECT FIRST CHILD IN SEPTEMBER

Manila, Jan. 11, 2000 - Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres will become parents in early September, according to the Philippine Star’s Ricky Lo.

When Lucy, 25, informed Richard, 34, about her “condition” last Sunday afternoon, Richard was so happy he was in tears.

Lucy first felt the first signs of her pregnancy first week of December and started having morning sickness between Christmas and New Year.

When she finally told Richard of her suspicions last Sunday, they did the EPT (early pregnancy test) on Lucy and got a positive result.

Later that afternoon, as they heard Mass, they were both overcome with emotion.

"During the reading of the Our Father," said Lucy, "Richard felt like crying. Ako rin, naiiyak na."

Asked if she and Richard prefer a boy or a girl, Lucy simply said, "At this point, any will do, basta healthy lang."
