ZSA ZSA PADILLA’S ALBUM SALES ZOOM

Quezon City, Jan. 5, 2000- The hottest star in the recording circuit these days is Zsa Zsa Padilla, whose album “Divine Diva” became quintuple platinum before the end of 1999. The follow-up album “Sentiments” went past gold and is on its way to turning double platinum.

For Zsa Zsa, the success of the two albums was the best gift and a fitting way to say goodbye to ’99.

Why were the albums such big sellers despite the economic crunch?

“You have to act a song out, using your voice and making each lyric part of your own experience. Even when you are simply interpreting an old song, it should sound the way a singer feels it,” the singer-actress explained.

Her inspiration?

“Dolphy has always been very encouraging of the things that I want to do, especially music and my singing. He knew me as a singer before we even met, and he won’t take the thing that I enjoy most out of my life,” she said of her lover and companion.

In the works for the year 2000 are “perhaps movies, a third album for Viva” said the very busy and fulfilled singer.
