PANGASINAN ALL SET FOR INTERNATIONAL HEALING FESTIVAL
Manaoag, Pangasinan, Oct. 4, 1999 The whole province of Pangasinan is in high gear for the First International Healing Festival and Seminar in Manila and at the Pyramid of Asia Healing Center of the World and Resort in the pilgrimage town of Manaoag, site of the world-renowned shrine of the miraculous Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary.
Faith healer Rev. Alex L. Orbito as he announced that the grand inauguration of the Pyramid of Asia Healing Center of the World on Nov. 25 will usher in the healing festival which will be held Nov. 26 to 30.
Orbito, who is now on a healing mission in Europe where he is also confering with foreign delegates to the festival, said the Pyramid of Asia is the first center in the world dedicated for healing. The Pyramid of Asia is the centerpiece of a healing and resort complex which is expected to make the Philippines an international healing center.
More than 200 foreigners have signed up for the festival. Among the countries represented are Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Korea, Italy, Spain, Russia, Sweden, and United States.
Many of the Philippines’ top psychic surgeons have also confirmed their participation in the festival.
A total of 500 foreign delegates and 2,000 local participants are expected to attend the week-long festival to see the world's and the country's top healers in action and hear them expound on their chosen method of healing.
The Pyramid of Asia was designed by German architect Dieter Loewer who describes it as "modest in size, simple in appearance yet rich in spiritual vibrations and healing energy."
Among the national and local officials who have extended full support to the 1st International Healing Festival and Seminar are Tourism Secretary Gemma Cruz-Araneta who recently directed line agencies, particularly the Philippine Visitors and Convention Center to render full assistance to the staging of the festival in Manaoag, Pangasinan.
Orbito said it was President Ramos who convinced him to build the Pyramid of Asia complex in Pangasinan to help boost the province's tourism program.
Sen. Loren Legarda, chairperson of the Senate committee on tourism, will formally open the First International Healing Festival and Seminar on Nov. 26. Another highlight is a tree-planting ceremony all around the three-hectare Pyramid of Asia resort complex.
Top officials of Pangasinan led by Gov. Victor Agbayani, Manaoag Mayor Pedrito Garcia and Dagupan City Mayor Alipio F. Fernandez Jr. hail the for boosting and strengthening Manaoag's bid to become a city. Pangasinan Congressman Lim has filed a bill seeking to designate Manaoag as the official "pilgrimage city" in the country.
The Department of Trade and Industry will stage a "trade fair and exhibit" showcasing the best products of Pangasinan, while he Galikayod Manaoag Foundation will present a cultural program to welcome the delegates.
Chief Supt. Enrique C. Cuadra, Ilocos-Pangasinan police regional director, and Supt. Joel Goltiao, Pangasinan police director, both assured Orbito that the foreign delegates will be secured and safe while in Pangasinan and in the Ilocos region for the duration of the festival.
Dagupan Mayor Al Fernandez has alerted Dagupan hotels and other business establishments to spread the red carpet welcome to the foreigners and local delegates who are expected to be billeted in the city for the week-long healing explosion in Manaoag.
