ABS-CBN'S NEW SITCOM GOES
ON SECOND EPISODE

Quezon City, September 15, 1999. The new sitcom “Puwedeng-Puwede Na” goes on its second episode tonight at 8 over ABS-CBN 2. The sitcom teams up Robin Padilla and Redford White with Kris Aquino, Nida Blanca, Vanessa del Bianco, Ogie Diaz, Marissa Sanches and Palito completing the supporting cast.
In the sitcom, Kris plays the role of a teacher, Mercedes “Chedy” D. Cambio, who is the object of a “hidden desire” (HD) of leading man Robin Padilla. In the sitcom directed by Woodrow Serafin, Kris gets to manifest her comic flair once more. Dubbed as today’s queen of daytime talk show on television, Kris has tackled various roles on TV eversince she started her showbiz career eight years ago this month, Her role in “PuwedengPuwede Na” is something she could tackle with ease and aplomb.
It is recalled that Kris’ showbiz career was launched via the very successful “Pido Dida” movie which co-starred her with the late comedian Rene Requiestas. In the movie, Kris displayed her comic skills, something which was eventually recognized when she received a trophy from the Star Awards as New Movie Actress of the Year. Although Kris was pitted against new performers who played dramatic roles in various movies, it was her comic role in the “Pido Dida” movie which earned her the acting award.
Kris also costarred with Rene Requiestas in the two equally successful sequels of the movie, “Pido Dida, Kinasal Na!” and “Pido Dida, May Kambal Na!” And then, she went on to star in an international comedy film entitled “Magic to Win” which costarred her with Hong Kong comedian Raymond Wong. The movie certainly put Kris in the international comedy scene.
On TV, Kris has also made her mark, beginning with the successful series “Luv Ko si Kris,” also on ABS-CBN 2. The series was initially a drama anthology but later on became a sitcom. It stayed on the air till l996, after which Kris “re-invented” herself as a the “Queen of Daytime Talk.”
With the new sitcom “PuwedengPuwede Na,’ Kris gets to display her comics prowess once more. And with Robin Padilla (who plays a jeepney driver), one of the country’s top action stars, Redford White, one of the country’s most bankable comedians and the durable veteran actress Nida Blanca, the sitcom promises to be an exciting program to watch on Wednesday evenings.
The production staff of the sitcom is composed of Linggit Tan, program director; Cynthia Jordan, production manager; Dagang Vilbar, executive producer; Brenda Lee Estocapio, associate producer; Cornelia Lee, talent coordinator; Marivic Dulce and Ernest Jimenez, production assistants; Alex Magbanua, floor director; Jess Osida, location manager; Mauie Liquigan,production designer; Danilo Flores, editor, and Neil Gooco, spinner.
The creative staff is made up of Woodrow Serafin, director; Loida Viriña, script consultant; Divino Reyes and Randy Reyes, writers.
