ROMMEL PADILLA'S FIRST MOVIE AFTER IMPRISONMENT
Quezon City, July 26, 1999- Rommel Padilla is out of jail, and back to doing what he likes to do: making movies.
His first film project after a stint inside Muntinglupa's National Penitentiary is "Kumakasa, Lumalaban" produced by Ara-Tri Media Productions.
In his first team-up with leading lady Mikee Villanueva, Rommel plays a character on screen which appears to be the exact opposite of his public image. He plays a quiet man who shies away from trouble, and gets entangled with others only in defense of a colleague who has been maligned.
Also starring in "Kumakasa" are Banjo Romero, Jojo Abellana, Ingrid Rodriguez, Jun King Austria and a comebacking Lovely Rivero.
Making a special appearance in the movie is Rommel's real-life mother, former starlet Eva Carino.
The movie is directed by Alvin Arceo.
"I am enjoying everything I am doing now. I feel an enthusiasm for work which I haven't felt since I was starting out," Rommel told reporters visiting the set.
