JOLINA NAMED MODEL FOR YOUTH
Malacanang, Jan. 10, 1999 - Jolina Magdangal capped a successful year of movies, shows and business ventures by receiving a Gintong Kabataan Award.
The award was handed out by First Lady Dr. Loi Ejercito at the Kalayaan Hall of Malacañang Palace last Dec. 30, during ceremonies hosted by Ms. Boots Anson Roa.
The project was spearheaded by the Young Achievers and Professionals Foundation with the First Lady as Honorary Chairperson. The foundation cited Jolina's achievements in various fields, a rare feat among the young stars of today.
"I am very happy that all of my efforts and sacrifices are beginning to pay off. I owe my success to those who believe in me and those who look up to me as their role model," Jolina said in her acceptance speech. "I promise that I will strive harder this 1999 and try to give them more that what they expect from me."
Jolina will be launching her solo album under Star Records at the start of the year and will soon start shooting two movies. She has also been offered foreign film.
Her private company, Jolina's Fashion Gallery, continues to expand. It now has two branches in Quezon City and Cebu, and will soon open new stores in Los Baños, Dumaguete, Davao and Cagayan de Oro. Jolina has also announced the availability of her Fashion Gallery for franchising nationwide.
Amid these activities, she diligently maintains her Computer Science course and continues to support her own social development programs. Recently, the Jolina's Little Angels Foundation was established by Jolina with simple gift-giving ceremonies for orphans and abused children. It is her own way of sharing her luck with the less fortunate.
