PINAY ENTERS BOWLING WORLD
CUP SEMIS
Kobe, Japan, Nov. 20, 1998
- Filipina bowler Lizette Garcia finished 24th in a field of 56, but that
was enough to qualify her for the next round in the 34th AMF Bowling World
Cup being held at the Rokko Bowl in Kobe.
Garcia's score of 4470 pins is 306 pins away from 8th placer Sayuri Yamada of Mexico. Another Philippine entry, Jing Sablan, scored only 4657 pins in 24 games and ended in 29th place.
Garcia now faces 16 games in the next round, which will determine the top eight qualifiers for a head-to-head matchplay.
