THOUSANDS JOIN NATIONAL YOUTH TAEKWONDO TOURNEY

Manila, Nov. 12, 1998 - More than 1,000 youngsters, including military and police dependents, are expected to see action in the 1998 Milo National Age Group Taekwondo Championships set on Nov. 15 at the Rizal Memorial coliseum.

Philippine Taekwondo Association president Robert Aventajado said the sports meet is limited to boys and girls aged 14 and below.

Participants will be grouped into seven height categories.

Almost all of last year's winners have expressed interest in returning ti renew their bids. Competitors are coming from various schools in Metro Manila, as well as other cities and provinces affiliated with the PTA.

Martial arts and other sports enthusiasts, especially children interested to learn the sports, are expected to flock to the coliseum to watch the tournament which begins at 9 a.m.
