ANGELU BACK IN JOKO'S ARMS

Manila, Nov. 29, 1998 - The life of actress Angelu de Leon is more colorful than any of the movie she's ever starred in. Pregnant, single, and then a mother at eighteen, Angelu defied all odds, and her mother, to live with the man she loves, a bachelor who only happens to have other kids by other women.

So when Angelu showed up at mom Flora's restaurant with her one-month-old baby Louise Nicole, and spent the night, speculations were rife that Angelu may have flown the coop and returned to the fold. It was time to wake up, wrote The Manila Times.

Philippine Headline News Online's Manila editor Sol Vanzi verified the Manila Times story by phoning Christine, the sister of Angelu, who admitted that Angelu spent four nights with the family, until Joko came and took them home to his love nest.

Christine would not comment on the following, printed in the Times:

"It turns out that Angelu upped and left her condo with Joko because he hadn't been going home there for several days already, leaving her with no idea of his whereabouts. Since Joko has no film or TV projects to keep him busy, she had wondered why he didn't even bother to call. All this has reinforced her growing suspicion that Joko has indeed found yet another girlfriend."

"She was here on vacation, the first time we've had her and the baby for longer than a few hours. But after four days, Joko came and fetched them. The next days, they were brought back by Joko, and were picked up after three hours," Christine told PHNO.

As to Angelu's career plans, Christine said Viva wants her sister to sign a new contract, which is still under discussion.

The Manila Times reports that another project awaiting the new mother is the next miniseries ABS-CBN will produce after "Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako" of ABS-CBN. Talent Center boss Johnny Manahan is said to be thinking of giving her a major role in it.
