IT'S A GIRL FOR ANGELU, NO WEDDING PLANS YET
Makati City, Nov. 9, 1998 - Angelu de Leon got the surprise of her life when she delivered a baby girl instead of a boy , which was predicted by pre-natal ultrasound tests.
Boy or girl, the gender of the baby did not matter as far as the presence (or absence) of her live-in boyfriend was concerned. Instead of Joko Diaz, the person who kept Angelu company throughout her ordeal was her Mommy Flor, who still has not forgiven Joko for that gun-pulling incident (reported blow-by-blow by PHNO) during the last Christmas holidays.
Reports have it that Joko was in the premises of the Makati Medical Center, where Angelu delivered their first baby last Saturday. But he had to wait until Mommy Flor was out of Angelu's room before he could slip in to see the new mother.
The baby will be named Maria Louise Nicole de Leon because the New Family Code states that children born out of wedlock must carry the mother's surname.
The arrival of a baby does not signal preparations for a wedding, however. Neither Angelu nor Joko has publicly said anything about getting married.
Could it be because of Joko's child by another woman and the rumor that one of his girlfriends is also pregnant?
Angelu's mother also holds the key to marriage plans, should there be any. She refuses to give parental consent to any marriage and is reportedly still not on speaking terms with Joko. Mommy Flor is reportedly just waiting for Angelu to leave the love nest she shares with Joko and come back home to Mama, who will welcome her and Maria Louise Nicole with open arms.
Will motherhood open Angelu's eyes?
Filipino movie stars' true lives are really more colorful than any soap opera.
