ARA MINA, BATTERED GIRLFRIEND NO MORE
Manila, Nov. 5, 1998 - Ara Mina has just returned from Hong Kong where she treated her family to a vacation. It's her way of celebrating and sharing with her loved ones the blessings she has received, now that her career is zooming.
After her public admission of the battering she received from her ex-boyfriend Marvin Padilla, she was ready to put that painful past behind her. But she was shocked to see on TV the mother of Marvin talking about her.
Ara was hurt, and wants Marvin's mother to know that she never talked against his family, which she considers part of her life because she once was very close to them when she and Marvin were still lovers.
Ara's mother has refused to be interviewed about the Marvin and her daughter.
Marvin, it seems, is about to enter showbiz as an actor, which could explain the sudden public discussion of his relationship with Ara, who would rather put everything behind her.
No, she would not even want to become friends with Marvin. That's how traumatized she was by that violent period in her life.
And it would be impossible to get Ara Mina to agree to be in the same film with Marvin, says the actress.
