SHERYL CRUZ SHOOTS TELEMOVIE FOR GMA-7
Quezon City, Oct. 30, 1998 - Rustom Padilla is flying to the United States this weekend to star in a GMA Telesine opposite US-based actress Sheryl Cruz. The project will be shot in San Diego, California.
Sheryl, who dropped out of the Philippine entertainment circle when she got married last year, will fly to San Diego with her brother Patrick, who himself had just packed his bags and left Manila to live in the US.
Whether Patrick will be in the US only for the duration of his studies or for good, only time will tell. In the meantime, he's with his Ate Sheryl, and could even land a role in the Telesine since he's already on site.
Aside from Rustom and Sheryl, also cast in the telesine is Robin da Roza, who bade his fans goodbye on TV just a couple of weeks ago, and is now US-based as well. Robin is trying to sort out his relationship with immediate members of his family, who were hurt and confused over many statements the young actor made during TV interviews prior to his departure for the US.
The telefilm is directed by Joey Romero and produced by Vivian C. Romero.
And how is Sheryl's life in the States as Mrs. Norman Bustos?
The actress is now an honor student at Antioch, where she's enrolled in a liberal arts program. Sheryl plans to major in marketing. That bit of news must please her former teachers at the OB Montessori school in Greenhills, where she was a diligent student although already a star while enrolled there.
