SON PATRICK MOVES TO U.S., RICKY BELMONTE NOW ALONE

Manila, Oct. 22, 1998 - Dramatic actor Ricky Belmonte is now living all alone. The last of his children still living with him had gone to the United States last Monday.

Patrick Cruz made up his mind to leave showbiz, and his dad, for a while to concentrate of his schooling. He is now in the United States, living with mom Rosemaries Senora in Antic, California. Former Sampaguita Pictures actress Rosemarie and husband Ricky Belmonte called it quits many years ago when Rosemarie migrated to the US to start a new life.

Ricky told entertainment writers that he did not attempt to stop his son from moving to the US with his erstwhile wife.

"It was his own decision," said Ricky. "I did not want to stop him because he wanted to experience life in the US."

The only thing that Ricky is sentimental about is his birthday on December 24, which he will mark without his three children Sheryl, Renzo and Patrick. It would mean being by his lonesome in the big family home in Valle Verde, Pasig. It will be the first time he'll spend Christmas and his birthday without his youngest son Patrick.

"Whatever makes my children happy, I will not prevent them from doing. I don't want them to accuse me of not giving them freedom to decide about their lives. As long as they know that they're welcome to come back to me anytime. I'll accept them.
