GOMA DIRECTS, KRIS PRODUCES, BOTH STAR IN VIVA FILM

Manila, Oct. 1, 1998 - - A sexy, daring and bold movie by Viva Films will be a first for the project's two stars.

The movie will mark the directorial debut of Richard Gomez, who completed a crash course in film-making at the New York University two years ago.

It will also be the first time for co-star Kris Aquino to handle a film project as line producer.

Expected to join Kris and Richard in the sex-thriller movie is Pops Fernandez, Richard's favorite singer. It will be recalled that Pops was invited to sing at the Richard Gomez-Lucy Torres wedding in Ormoc, but Pops declined when she reportedly found out that she was to share a bedroom with husband Martin Nievera.

Pops is reported by the Philippine Star's Ricky Lo to be cast in a bold role with some sexy scenes with Richard.

Richard and Kris had finalized the project at a meeting the other day with Viva boss Vic del Rosario, Jr.

Although he has directed about a dozen commercials , Richard is all excited about his new job as movie director.

Meanwhile, Manila's print media is overflowing with Richard-Lucy publicity articles, preparing the audience for the TV sitcom starring the most famous married couple in contemporary Philippine cinema.

Richard and Lucy's honeymoon photos have been published, in full color, by several major Philippine newspapers. At the same time, pictorials of Lucy in Richard's dream home, and of the two in the most romantic poses, have graced the covers of several major magazines.

Observed one movie fan about the metamorphosis of Lucy Torres, Ormoc girl to Mrs. Richard Gomez, cover girl: "Showbiz na Showbiz ang dating."
