KART RACING RESUMES
Carmona, Cavite, Sept. 19, 1998 - The Carmona Racing Circuit, home of the country's biggest and most prestigious karting event, will come to life anew tomorrow, with the staging of the 6th leg of the 1998 Shell Advance Super Karting Championships - National Centennial Series.
Pepon Marave of Kart Plaza, J. P. Tuason of Morisawa and Philip Alvendia of Kart 1-PCR resume their hunt for fame and fortune in this 8-month-long series organized by the Philippine International Karting Association.
Marave, who topped the previous leg last Aug. 23, will be one of the favorites in the centerpiece Formula Super A category, along with Tuason and Alvendia.
Marave, who ruled the fifth leg last month, is expected to be seriously challenged this weekend by Tuason, Alvendia, Norman Gonzales, Jonjon Hiceta, Nicky Gonzales and Michael Tuason.
Also expected to make their presence felt in the day-long competition are Manuel Sy in the intercon A class; Erickson Tanael in the Kt Heavy and Tony Mirasol in the Kt. Light category.
