NEW ROLE FOR PRINCESS PUNZALAN IN TV SOAP

Manila, Sept. 19, 1998 - Princess Punzalan, the darling and apple of the late radio-TV queen Helen Vela, shows off her acting prowess to full advantage as she assumes an entirely different role in the ABS-CBN telenovela MULA SA PUSO.

Although the soap stars Claudine Barreto, many viewers have been vocal about saying that Princess Punzalan is the main reason for TV addicts to watch the daily instalments of the TV drama.

Princess plays the bad guy, the kontrabida, who provides the balance for sweet, nice heroine Claudine.

They note with disappointment, however, that Princess is not getting the proper billing, despite her definitely "meaty" role and the fact that her character is central to the story.

In the ratings game, MULA SA PUSO is reportedly nosing out its ESPERANZA, another ABS- CBN telenovela starring Judy Ann Santos.
