MARTIN IN MANILA, POPS REFUSES CALLS?
Manila, Sept. 11, 1998 - There has been no grand announcement, but showbiz writers and columnists have written bits and pieces here and there that Martin Nievera is back in the Philippines.
The first item was by Ethel Ramos of Malaya, who wrote about Martin's presence at a party given by Mother Lily Monteverde.
The Manila Times Tittle Tattle column, on the other hand, reveals that Pops Fernandez, Martin's estranged wife, still refuses to talk to Martin, even on the phone. Pops' half-brother Edwin Fernandez, a car dealer, was reported by the Times to have revealed quite a load of dirty linen about Martin.
As Edwin tells it, Martin used Edwin to sell his van, but did not give Edwin a single peso in commission.
In his anger, Edwin spilled the beans on a household staff who he claimed gave birth to a baby sired by Martin.
The Fernandez-Nievera family feud seems to be getting bigger, instead of settling down.
