SHARON RECOVERS, STARTS TALK SHOW TODAY
Manila, Sept. 6, 1998 - It's been only days since Megastar Sharon Cuneta-Pangilinan lost the baby she carried in her womb for three months, yet the only hint of that very personal experience was a tinge of sadness in her eyes when she met the press to discuss her new TV show.
Undoubtedly, her physical healing will be faster than her emotional recovery from two miscarriages in four months (May and August).
"I am weak up to now," she sighed, "but all you can do is to hang on to your faith and keep your trust in God."
Starting today, Sunday, Sharon will take over the ABS-CBN 6-7 pm time slot vacated by the cancelled "Companero y Companera" and star in the program 'SHARON' described as a musical talk show.
Sow director Rowell Santiago says it is going to be a unique show, "because nowhere on television is there a show where the host both talks and sings."
Asked how she could physically handle the demands and rigors of a weekly TV show considering what she's just been through, Sharon gave a reply that showed her inner strength.
"It is better than staying at home doing nothing," she says. "Besides, it's been a long time that I've been away and now, I am happy to be with everyone again."
Except for the first show which had been taped, the succeeding weekly episodes will be live. The initial plans called for President Estrada as the first guest.
"We will tackle the lighter side of President Erap," Sharon explains. "We will probably ask him about his cooking and just about everything that won't have anything to do with his being president."
Her year-long stay in Boston, Sharon confesses, "taught me to love showbiz even more."
