SHARON CUNETA FINE AFTER 3RD MISCARRIAGE

Manila, Aug. 27, 1998 - Fans of megastar Sharon Cuneta were shocked and saddened when news came from radio and TV stations that their idol had a third miscarriage.

Sharon, watched over by her husband Francis Pangilinan, is reported by The Manila Times to be safe and recuperating at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center. She was three months pregnant. It was the third time for her and Francis to be disappointed by a miscarriage.

According to Francis, Sharon had been complaining of stomach pains days before she finally lost the baby.

The Pangilinans have been back in the Philippines only a few weeks. They were in Boston for almost a year while Francis was finishing a course in Harvard and the couple concentrated on having a baby.

Sharon's last miscarriage before this one came before the May elections. After recuperating from that setback, she flew to Manila for a few days to campaign for her mother, who was running for congress, and a brother, who was running for a seat in Pasay City.

Prior to her last hospitalization, there were announcements that Sharon was going to host a talk show on ABS-CBN.

A newspaper columnist today reported that Sharon had put her foot down on a show business career for her 12-year-old daughter KC Concepcion, who inherited the sweet baby-face-look of her father, actor Gabby Concepcion, Sharon's first husband.

Mrs. Sharon Cuneta-Pangilinan is expected to be out of the hospital in a few days.
