POP PLANS FOR LIFE W/O MARTIN

Manila, Aug. 23, 1998 - Pops Fernandez, back in Manila after a successful concert in the United States, denies vehemently that she had a meeting with estranged husband Martin Nievera in the course of her short Stateside trip.

There was just no way for them to come into contact with each other, says the Concert Queen, explaining that she had to rush home immediate after fulfilling her concert commitments.

Pops is now back as the major co-host of the Sunday top-rating noontime musical TV shows A.S.A.P. on ABS-CBN.

Pops now refuses any request for comment on the current status of her relationship with Martin. She says she wants to take life as it comes.

Playing single parent to her two sons is not an easy job, especially because she's no ordinary Mom. She has to wake up early so that she can personally attend to her sons' needs, and sees them off to school.

Only after they're in school, and she's back home, can she catch up again with her own commitments: schedules of concerts, guestings, rehearsals, household problems, shopping, etc.

Looking beyond show business, Pops is now seriously considering going back to school in the United States. She wants to take up cosmetology and fashion designing. She might even include courses in entrepreneurship and business management, because she dreams of putting up her own beauty and fashion center.
