TYPHOON VEERS AWAY FROM RP
Manila, Aug. 5, 1998 - Typhoon 'Bising" which is internationally codenamed 'Otto' has moved away from the Philippines, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
'Bising' is the second typhoon to skip the country since the wet season began.
At 2 p.m. Tuesday, the center of the typhoon was estimated over Taiwan with sustained winds of 105 kilometers per hour hear the center and gustiness of up to 130 kph.
As a result of the storm's change in direction, weathermen have lowered all storm warning signals in the country.
