KRING-KRING WEDS IMELDA'S
NEPHEW IN OCTOBER
Tacloban City, July 29, 1998
- The last obstacle to the wedding of actress Cristina "Kring-Kring"
Gonzales to Leyte Congressman Alfred Romualdez has been removed. Cristina's
marriage of convenience to Itos Carag is no more, courtesy of an overseas
divorce which proved painful and trying for the actress.
Kring-Kring, who holds a college degree from Assumption College, is the daughter of Sampaguita Pictures matinée idol Jose Mari Gonzales, who got elected Congressman of San Juan last May, and sees his future son-in-law at the Congress session hall everyday.
Leyte Representative Alfred Romualdez is the son of the new Mayor of Tacloban City.
In an exclusive interview with former First Lady Imelda Marcos, older sister of the groom's father Mayor Alfredo "Bejo" Romualdez, NEWSFLASH learned that the wedding is planned for October, to coincide with the festivities surrounding the commemoration of the Liberation of the Philippines, also known as the Leyte Landing of Gen. Douglas MacArthur on the beaches of Palo, a few kilometers from the Romualdez ancestral estate in Olot, Tolosa, Leyte.
Kring Kring is already a Congressman's daughter, and the marriage will add more titles, such as: Congressman's wife, niece-in-law of a former First Lady and Leyte Congresswoman, daughter- in-law of the Tacloban Mayor, cousin-in-law of Ilocos Congresswoman Imee Marcos Manotoc, cousin-in-law of Ilocos Norte Governor Bongbong Marcos.
How's that for pedigree?
