SANTA ANA RACE TRACK MOVES TO CAVITE
Makati City, June 26, 1998 - Two years from now, racing aficionados will have to go out of town to watch their favorite horses in action. The Philippine Racing Club, Inc., which operates the Santa Ana Park, is relocating from Makati to a new home in Cavite.
Sta. Lucia Realty has integrated the construction of a new racetrack into its multi-million Saddle and Clubs Leisure Park, a mixed-use residential, commercial and recreation complex occupying 576 hectares in an area bounded by the towns of Naic and Tanza and the capital of Trece Martires.
Santa Ana Park will rise on a 70-hectare section of the project and ex expected to be the most modern racing complex in the country.
When completed, it will be the first racing facility in the Philippines with both sand and turf ovals. Races at both Santa Ana and San Lazaro Hippodrome are held on dirt.
The new Santa Ana Park will accommodate 8,000 patrons; the use of the infield for racing fans can increase crowd capacity.
The present site in Makati will be transformed into a mixed-use residential, commercial and recreation area.
