GELLI IN DELICATE PREGNANCY, QUITS SHOWS

Manila, June 24, 1998 - Gelli de Belen and Ariel Rivera are brimming with happiness over the news that they are expecting their first child. It's the crowning achievement of their year-old marriage.

But Gelli's pregnancy is not a routine one; she had been advised by her doctor to take it easy and not move too much.

Word is that she's practically in bed, lying down, most of the time as a precaution.

Gelli and Ariel do not mind, as they have been looking forward to this happy event from the very start. Gelli has stopped all show business appearances, and was not present for the taping last week of her regular weekly sitcom "Tropang Trumpo."

Her co-stars understand the situation and even the network executives have not been heard to complain.

Her sister, Janice, is likewise expecting another child by husband John Estrada.
