ALFIE LORENZO ORDERED ARRESTED
Quezon City, June 17, 1998 - Controversial talent manager and entertainment columnist Alfie Lorenzo has been ordered arrested for failing to attend the hearings on the sex and libel charges filed against him by several young aspiring actors.
Quezon City Metropolitan Trial Court Judge Francisco Villanueva cancelled Lorenzo's cash bail bond and ordered his arrest after his lawyer failed to explain to the court his failure to attend. All the lawyer could tell the court was that Lorenzo was out of town.
The sex case was for acts of lasciviousness, filed by actor John Leward, who claims Lorenzo abused him after the promise to make him a movie star. The incident allegedly took place inside Lorenzo's Woodland Condominium residence in Cubao.
Other charges for acts of lasciviousness and libel were filed in Manila and Quezon City courts against Lorenzo by actors Lorenz Silva, Toto Trinidad, Bobby Schwein and Arnold Ocampo.
Lorenzo is also facing charges in Makati as an accomplice in the alleged rape of another movie talent by three film producers. Lorenzo allegedly arranged the meeting that resulted in the rape.
