ERAP'S LEADING LADY HEADS CHANNEL 13
Manila, June 14, 1998 - President-elect Joseph Estrada has designated veteran actress Boots Anson-Roa to head the government-sequestered Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation Channel 13.
Estrada named his former leading lady as IBC president and general manager effective July 1, 1998.
Boots Anson-Roa, a scholar and mass communications graduate of the University of the Philippines, is currently vice president for TV Production of Premiere Entertainment Productions, Inc. She is married to Pete Roa, himself a movie and television personality. Boots and Pete were the most popular TV hosts in the mid-to-late 60s.
Boots starred as Estrada's leading lady in the series of movies that gave the President-elect the nickname "Erap." Among these movies, shot in thee 1970s, were: "Mahal Ko Si Erap" and "Tatay Na Si Erap."
She served in Washington, D.C. as a member of the Philippine diplomatic mission in the early 80s, while her husband opened and operated "Maynila," the first five-star Filipino restaurant in the US. capital.
Husband Pete has just recovered from a stroke. Boots and Pete are co-hosts of a very popular morning radio talk show.
