U.P. GOVT COURSE FOR MAYOR VILMA SANTOS

Diliman, Quezon City, June 13, 1998 - Is "The Star For All Seasons" serious about running Lipa City as its new Mayor? You better believe she is.

Any doubt about the brevity of Vilma Santos' concern for the people of Lipa City was wiped out by the news that the multi-awarded actress is now enrolled at the University of the Philippines for a crash course in public governance.

Vilma, the wife of re-elected Batangas Congressman Ralph Recto, is taking a special course along with twenty or so members of her staff.

Mayor-elect Vilma Santos Recto is bent on proving to her fans and constituents that she deserves the trust and confidence they showed when they elected her into office.

She told reporters that she's quitting show business temporarily in order to devote all her time and energy to her new job.
