MARTIN NIEVERA U.S. CONCERTS UPDATE
Manila, June 12, 1998 - Here's the latest on super singer, TV host, total entertainer Martin Nievera who is currently busy performing all over the United States.
Entertainment columnist Leah Gatdula of the Philippine Daily Inquirer reports that Martin is living true to his title of Concert King.
Last May 16 and 17, Martin sang before a reported audience of 150,000 at the Philippine- American Convention and Exposition on the Fairlex Grounds of Pomona, Los Angeles. Performing with Martin was US-based pop singer Jocelyn Enriquez.
The audience was so thrilled with Martin that they kept begging for more song numbers, forcing organizers and venue managers to extend the expo hours, and to arrange for Martin to perform again in San Diego in October.
On July 4, Martin will be on stage with Megastar Sharon Cuneta in Reno, Nevada.
From July 11 to 12, Martin will hold a 2-day concert at the Paramount Pictures' Great America theme park in San Francisco, with dad Bert Nievera as special guest.
Also performing with him will be a Filipino-American quintet called Kai, under the management of Geffen Records. Another guest is Serrani, a Filipina whose popularity is peaking in the Bay Area.
By August, Martin will be in Hawaii, his second (first?) home for a performance with the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra. This will be their second team-up, and the show will be at the Waikiki Shell, which can seat 6,000.
