ANOTHER TORONTO PINOY HITS

Manila, June 9, 1998 - Another Filipino-Canadian fromToronto, Ontario, Canada has made it to the Philippine movies in Manila. His name, Roger Matira, now using his screen name Simon Ibarra.
He was a Toronto bartender when he won the Toronto search for Body Shots '96 where he met producers Richard Tang, talent managers Edgar Instrella, Cherry Picache and Gardo Verzosa, who were the judges in the contest.
He went home to the Philippines in November 1996 and produced a Valentine concert featuring Jaya and Allan K in 1997 which was a stunning success. Then he landed parts in real estate commercials and was bitten by the acting bug.
His first movie was "Kung Liligaya Ka Sa Piling Ng Iba" which was shot in Ilocos Sur with a nude bed scene with Ynes Veneracion. He was also with Gino Antonio, Kristina Kasten, Pia Paula, Isabel Reyes, Miguel Moreno and Fernando Montenegro in the movie.
He just finished his new movie "Dama De Noche" under Viva/Neo Films.
