GMA7 MOVES STAR TALK TO SATURDAY, KEEPS HOSTS

Manila, June 8, 1998 - GMA7 is not losing its cash cow, the ever-popular Sunday show Star Talk, which its two hosts Rossana Roces and Boy Abunda had wanted to leave because they wanted to enjoy Sundays off.

Osang wanted out because she anted to devote her Sundays to her family. Boy Abunda wanted to spend Sundays outside the studio.

If Star Talk had been axed, the two would have been offered lucrative terms by rival ABS-CBN, which wanted the duo to host a new talk show originally meant for Martin Nievera. As we all know, Martin bade the Philippines goodbye, to "sort out his personal problems" outside the country.

GMA kept its show, and the two hosts. How? A brilliant Solomonic solution was to move the program from Sunday afternoon to Saturday afternoon. Voila! Sundays off for Rossana and Boy!

Starting next week, Star Talk will switch time slots with GMA's Saturday entertainment special, "Etching" starring Lyn Ching. The show will be renamed the "S Files" and will be hosted by Lyn Ching and Paolo Bediones.

Star Talk will be on Saturdays, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. while the S Files will be 4 p.m. Sunday.
