MARK ANTHONY ARREST ORDER RECALLED
Makati City, June 5, 1998 - Actor Mark Anthony finally showed up in court yesterday, and was promptly given a lesson in decorum by Judge Oscar Santamaria, who had earlier ordered him arrested for ignoring court summonses.
The Inquirer reports that Mark Anthony entered the courtroom wearing a Hogan cap and a pair of fashionable shades. Instead of the usual adoration accorded a good-looking star, he got a dressing down from the judge who ordered him to remove his cap and shades, the report said.
The police had earlier failed to locate him at either the Paranaque home of his mother, Alma Moreno (wife of Paranaque mayor Joey Marquez) or the White Plains residence of his father Rudy Fernandez (husband of actress Lorna Tolentino). They were armed with a warrant of arrest issued by the judge after Mark Anthony failed to attend court hearings.
Mark Anthony claims his father's staff failed to notify him that the notices had been delivered tot he Quezon City home.
The case was filed by an American, Christian Fayette, who allegedly was attacked by Mark with a dinner knife for calling him a lousy actor in front of his girlfriend Claudine Barreto.
Because of Fernandez' court appearance, the judge recalled he arrest order against him, and ordered the resumption of hearings.
