HILTON RETURNS VIA CEBU HILTON RESORT AND TOWERS
Cebu City, May 24, 1998 - Hilton International Corporation and Goldland Philippines are building the Cebu Hilton Resort and Towers, a condotel and condominium project, in scenic Mactan Island. It marks the return to the Philippines of the Hilton chain, which was last involved in the Hilton Manila Pavilion Hotel in Manila.
The project is the first Hilton hotel to be established in the Philippines under a global alliance between Hilton Hotels International, the owner of Hilton and Conrad International hotels in the US, and Hilton International Corporation, owner of Hilton hotels outside the US. The marketing alliance makes Hilton the biggest hotel chain in the world, thus improving the market potentials of close to 400 members hotels in the US and 50 other countries.
Assured of the most extensive hotel reservation network in the world, Cebu Hilton Resort's market presence in the international hospitality industry is expected to have an immediate impact once it officially opens its doors in 2001. This will translate to better occupancy rates, which in turn will mean better return on investment for buyers of Cebu Hotel Resort condotel units.
Cebu Hilton Resort and Towers will rise in the same beach front as Shangri-La Mactan. Mactan Island is being developed as another Hawaii and Bali, and is considered one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in the Asia Pacific region.
