FREE CENTENNIAL EVENING SHOWS AT MUSEO NG MAYNILA
Manila, May 23, 1998 - In celebration of the Kalayaan Fiesta '98 spearheaded by the National Centennial Commission, the Museo ng Maynila will sponsor a series of cultural presentations on week-end nights at the Museo ng Maynila Open Air Complex.
The "Museo Nights" performances are open to the public and free of charge.
On May 29, in cooperation with the Cultural Center of the Philippines, there will be a film showing of one of the masterpieces of Filipino film director Gerry de Leon. To be shown is "Noli Me Tangere" which is considered a Filipino film classic based on the novel of the same title by national hero Dr. Jose Rizal.
On May 30, there will be a stage presentation of the trial and death of Andres Bonifacio. "Takipsilim" is a play to be staged by Teatro CCM of the City College of Manila.
The Bayanihan Philippine Dance Company will be featured in a cultural presentation on June 5, followed on June 6 by a musical performance by the UP Singing Ambassadors.
All performances and presentations begin at 7 p.m. at the Museo ng Maynila, Roxas Boulevard corner T.M. Kalaw, on the site of the former Army and Navy Club.
The Museo is open from Tuesdays to Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
