144 TEE OFF FOR GOMA CUP IN BORACAY
Boracay Island, May 11, 1998 - The beaches of Boracay Island will be teeming with stars from May 14 to 17 with the holding of the 8th Goma Cup Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament at the Fairways and Bluewater Resort and Country Club.
Named after the famous actor-sportsman Richard Gomez who started it, the Goma Cup is presented this year by Hartebeest Entertainment and Omega watches.
Among the stars and celebrities participating are Ogie Alcasid, Dingdong Avanzado, Robin da Roza, Gelli de Belen, Anjo and Jomari Yllana.
Two Ford pick-up vehicles, an Isuzu Hi-lander and a Krypton motorcycle are hole-in-one prizes in four par-3 holes of the par-72 layout.
Most of the 144 participants and early registrants will fly to Boracay on May 14, to enjoy a free day on the beach before the tournament proper begins May 16.
Awards Night on May 17 will be open to all Boracay beachcombers, with guest bands providing all-night music for a Luau beach party.
Winners will receive Allesi plate trophies imported from Italy. Major sponsors of the glittering event are Duty Free Philippines, Bench, San Miguel Corporation, Norkis-Yamaha, Isuzu and Ford.
