P2-M PURSE FOR FVR CENTENNIAL
GOLF CLASSIC
Silang, Cavite, May 8, 1998
- The FVR Centennial Golf Classic will be held May 23-24 at the Riviera
Golf and Country Club in Silang, with International Container Terminal
Services Inc. donating P2 million for the series.
Ericsson has likewise poured in P1 million for the tournament. ICTS coursed its prize money through Ricky Razon.
Adopted on both courses of the Rivera will be a two-man scramble format. The prizes will be handed out May 25, at a grand dinner-cum-awards night at the Manila Peninsula's Rigodon Ballroom.
The tournament is open to male and female amateurs and is exclusively by invitation. Main invitees would include company presidents CEOs, COOs and other top guns of the country's most reputable corporations.
"This will be the greatest tribute of all to our President, which is only fitting as Mr. Ramos has always been the nation's No. 1 supporter of golf," said Col. Rico Javier, overall chieftain of the tournament.
"This will be fun and at the same time, very competitive," Javier added. "Out intention, indeed, is to make President Ramos the happiest person, if not golfer, during the two days of competition."
