NATIONAL CENTENNIAL BADMINTON
MEET SET
Manila, May 1, 1998 -
Hundreds of players registered for the National Centennial Badminton Championships
set for May 6-10 at the Rizal Memorial Badminton Hall on Vito Cruz Street.
The five-day tournament is the Philippine Badminton Association's contribution to the country's centennial. It will also serve as a try out for players intending to join or be retained in the national team for the second half of the year.
Open to all Philippine residents, including foreigners, the tournament offers a total cash prize of P100,000.
Among the early registrants are Palarong Pambansa medallists from Dumaguete City, Oriental Mindoro, Cabanatuan City and Metro Manila.
Also entered are candidates for the RP youth team who will leave for the 2nd Asian Junior Badminton Championships in Malaysia in June.
