HALF-PRICE TICKETS FOR CENTENNIAL FILMFEST
Manila, May 24, 1998 - Six chains of movie houses in Metro Manila will cut by at least 50% the costs of an admission ticket for all films taking part in the Centennial Film Festival set on June 17- 23.
To help revive public interest in Filipino films, admission tickets will be pegged at P20 per person for all the historic films.
The participating theaters are those inside the SM Megamall, SM North Edsa, Ever Gotesco City, Ever Gotesco Grand Central, Greenbelt Cinema 2 and Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall.
The reduced ticket prices were made possible after the six theater chains slashed their rental rates for the duration of the festival "Kasaysayan at Pelikula, 100 Years of Movies in the Philippines" which will feature 40 movies and 12 documentaries.
As a prelude to the festival, film buffs and students will have a chance to attend a two-day free lecture on the history of Philippine cinema at the SM Megatrade on June 15 and 16.
