ARREST WARRANT FOR MARK ANTHONY

Makati City, May 23, 1998 - The Makati City Metropolitan Trial Court yesterday issued a warrant of arrest for young movie actor Mark Anthony Fernandez in connection with the charges of grave threat filed against him by an American.

The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Cesar Sta. Maria of MTC branch 62, after Fernandez failed to appear before the court in the trial of the case.

Aside from his non-appearance, Fernandez also failed to submit his counter-affidavit on the grave threat charges filed by Christian Fayette.

The charge sheet narrates that on March 1, 1998, Fernandez threatened Fayette by poking a bread knife at him, while the foreigner was having breakfast at the Whistle Stop restaurant in Makati.

Fayette alleged that Fernandez was with his girlfriend, actress Claudine Baretto, when the incident occurred.

Mark Fernandez is the son of action star Rudy Fernandez (now married to actress Lorna Tolentino) and former actress Alma Moreno (now married to Paranaque Mayor Joey Marquez).
