RICHARD AND LUCY START RED CROSS WORK

Manila, May 18, 1998 - Newlyweds Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres are starting their married life together by shedding blood. Nope, not spilling blood in fights or accidents, but for a good cause: the Philippine National Red Cross campaign for safe blood.

PNRC governor Rosa Rosal, who personifies the Red Cross in the country, announced that Richard and Lucy have signed up as Red Cross volunteers. She hailed the spirit shown by the husband and wife team as something that should thrive in every home.

Ms. Rosal said that on May 22, Richard will affirm his commitment to serve the Red CRoss by donating blodd himself. And bride Lucy willbe by his side to cher him up for this humanitarian gesture.

More than that, Lucy will be assisting Rosa Rosal in the blood-letting, as she begins her married life following in the footsteps of Ms. Rosal as possible Red Cross symbol and spokesperson.

After May 22, Richard and Lucy are ex[ected to motivate their relatives, friends, fans and colleagues in the movie world to join the Red Cross as volunteers or become blood donors.
