PHILMUSIC@CYBERIA CHAT SERIES OPENED 
W/ 'SOUTH BORDER'

Metro Manila, Philippines (May 9, 1998) -

PhilMusic.Com, the Philippines' pioneer web site devoted to the promotion of Philippine music, resumes its music chat events with a series entitled "PhilMusic @ Cyberia".

Held in cooperation with Cyberia Cafe Makati (http://www.cyberia.com.ph), "PhilMusic @ Cyberia" is a series of Net chats with OPM artists held live from Cyberia. This goes on every Saturday noon (Philippine time) at the PhilMusic.Com chatroom (http://www.philmusic.com/chat). North American surfers can participate by logging in Friday evenings, 9 PM, Pacific Standard Time.

The series kicks off today, May 9. First chat guests in the series is Sony Music recording artist SOUTH BORDER. This is their first PhilMusic chat event with their new vocalist Luke Mejares (replacing the controversial flame haired Brix Ferraris). South Border's appearance in the chatroom will allow them to answer questions from their fans on the Internet, both in the Philippines and abroad.

Other artists ccurrently lined up for the "PhilMusic @ Cyberia" chat series are P.O.T. (May 16), True Faith (May 23), and Put3Ska (June 6). More artists coming up will be announced as they are confirmed.

PhilMusic.Com has been instrumental in developing Internet chat events as a viable means of OPM music artist promotion since featuring Color It Red in March 1997. Cchat event guests at PhilMusic.Com read like a who's who in the contemporary local music scene. These guests have included Joey Ayala, Passage, RiverMaya, Eraserheads, Sugar Hiccup, P.O.T., Put3Ska, Hungry Young Poets, Parokya ni Edgar, Wolfgang, True Faith, Kulay, Zsa Zsa Padilla, and Kuh Ledesma. These events have given music fans from all over the world the chance to pose questions to Philippine recording artists.
