FREEDOM ARC IS TAN GROUP'S CENTENNIAL FLOAT
Manila, April 21, 1998 - "Lakbay Sining Kalayaan" featuring the eight rays of the sun in the national flag will be the theme of the Lucio Tan Group of Companies" float for the Centennial Float Parade on June 12.
Represented in "Lakbay Sining Kalayaan" are the eight companies in the Lucio Tan Group" Allied Banking Corp., Asia Brewery, Century Park Hotel, Fortune Tobacco Corp., Philippine Airlines, Foremost Farm Inc., Grandspan Development Corp. and Tanduay Distillers.
The Symbolic arc was chosen because it imaginatively depicts the history of the Philippines. The symbolic arc on the float will have a three-dimensional effect depicting major personalities and events in Philippine history.
"Lakbay Sining Kalayaan" will be previewed in an eight-week roadshow starting April 17 and culminating on June 12. The roadshow will be hosted by Tanduay and will cover selected hotels and restaurants. It will kick off at Ilustrado Restaurant in Intramuros, and will feature chefs from participating hotels representing the eight provinces that were the first to revolt against Spain.
It will also introduce Tanduay Centennial Rhum, a premium aged rhum contained in collectible etched and hand-painted glass bottles. Tanduay has limited output of the Centennial Rhum to 20,000 bottles.
